I watch these movies mainly for Captain Jack. Will and Elizabeth were put in these movies to give it some romantic edge. But i can totally do without. Frankly i never found there characters to be all that compelling or interesting.

Totally agree - their story has been told.
To me, the POTC series is strong with Jack and Barbossa in the leads.
Though, I disliked Barbossa's hat completely in this film I loved the ending, with him at the helm of the Queen Anne.

For me, this is by far the best of the series for that very reason.
Rescue the damsel in distress, whip the bad guy, save the world.

Yeah I did like them but their stories are over with and theres no need for them anymore, I actually really like jack as the main character.

Parts 2 & 3 rewatches made Will & Elizabeth more tolerable.
Esp considering Will was in it for honourable purposes to save his father, & Elizabeth was in it to end up with both Will & avenge her father's death.
POTC the first movie, the both of them were fine as tweener Pirates for the actual curse story arc.

That doesn't even make sense seeing as this movie is smothered with a romance between Jack and Angelica.

Totally agree.
And I do love mermaids, this one has the best mermaid scene. However I did find that mermaid love story to be a bit too cheesy.
