I know I'm two years late but I agree. Sparrow and Tia Dalma had a rich history yet the writers did nothing to show that.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Elizabeth Gets a new boyfriend, but still is in love with Will, and tries to convince her boyfriend to allow her to keep both of them
doesn't need "Jack" because his story is finished. End of Story.

They let her go because her character is not needed anymore. End of.
