What happened to Sly, Willis, Arnie etc?
These latest films of theirs show no character back story, it seems to be to show how big their diks are.
They come away from any fight nearly compltetly unscathed and give the cheesiest lines, kill a bunch of thugs with one automatic pistol, seem to control the law in all their films.
These guys don't act anymore, they just appear in a film and shoot as many bullets as possible
Just retire please, save yourselves and Hollywood!
Also, what the hell is with the cheesy, swamp music in Bullet to The Head, that music was dated in the 80's!
Rant over, anyone else agree with me? I'd just like to say i'm not saying i hate these actors, i just don't think they can act anymore, they just wanna swing their diks as much as they can

This is a late response, but have you seen Blood Father? It is, in my estimation, the best action film of the year, and Mel Gibson delivered the best performance of 2016 (to date). It was an amazing, multi-layered performance and one that put most of his contemporaries (Sly, Willis, Arnold) to shame.
As depressing as it is to see a popular movie icon slumming it and phoning it in, it is a real rush to see one at the top of his game and eager to prove he's still the best in the business like Mel did in Blood Father.

Stallone stank in this, but Jason Momoa turned in a hell of a performance. Every bit as good as his Khal Drogo. Which is surprising, because I've hated everything else he has ever been in.

Fluke Skywalker nailed it. Bruce dosen't give a damn anymore. Arnie tries but just dosen't have it in him anymore. Sly is by far the most passionate of the three and even in bad movies always gives 100%. You couldn't pay Sly to phone it in. He loves his work far to much.

I'm not arguing with you but Sly actually worked on the script; which should be no big surprise to anyone since he wrote most of the screenplays he starred in.
This was better than I thought it would be. The nostalgic vibe of the 80's certainly brought back memories.
But it is silly for people to think the director holds no responsibility for what appears on the screen.

You reckon someone like Sly doesn't have the same power if not more than the director?! He's at the level where what he says goes, even if he's not directing. Actors always have an input in the script and direction, from something really minor to almost replacing the director

Wake up, guys. You aren't making any sense. An actor is involved in whatever development is in the script, and says the lines that are in the script the way the director wants him to say them.
You can blame an actor for taking a part in a bad script, but it's pretty illogical and dumb to blame the actor for what he says in the film and what happens in the film.
And before you blame an actor for working in a bad movie (which this isn't) to make money, take a good look at yourselves. Pretty much all of us prostitute ourselves in crappy jobs to eke out an existence.

Big fan of the Rocky and Rambo series of movies. Stallone was a bad ass. But there is no way a 32 year old hottie Sarah Shahi would hang out with a 65 year old grandpa Sylvester Stallone.
Hollywood does this regularly and its ridiculous. Unless I see Stallone as a father figure or a mentor or a bit part actor, it does not work. He isn't a lead anymore.

I think Sly did pretty good in this.
You pretty know what to expect by watching the trailer,
and this movie simply dishes it out.
Some good lines delivered in old man Sly style.
I wont be buying the blu-ray anytime soon,
but I was entertained.
Pffft, my suspension of disbelief has higher standards than that.

Have to address the Walter Hill comment: Let's see, since 48Hrs, the "Buddy Buddy" movies he's made were Red Heat and Another 48Hrs. Yeah, a real victim of "recipe". Although, I suppose you could include Robert Duvall and Thomas Haden-Church in Broken Trail, but that would be a real stretch.
As far as Hill's track record, I can't think of many action directors who have this impressive body of work.
If we all liked the same movie, there'd only be one movie!

It's a shame. They really are good actors. But lately they're not even trying. I especially noticed it in The Expendables. Stallone was able to act since Rocky. Arnold got better and better over the years. Bruce Willis was always. I always loved him as John McClane.

I agree with the OP about Arnie and Bruce, but not Sly. Willis has been mailing it in for a while now. He looks miserable. Arnie hasn't been right since he came back from politics. At first I chalked it up to rust, but now I think he just lost his fastball. IMO he had the most natural charisma of the three. He was the Alpha Male. The Prom King. Now it seems like age and personal failures have taken the life out of him. His mojo is gone. But Sly has always been driven and resilient. Even in his bad movies he seems to be engaged and giving it his all.
He went to Bespin Luke Skywalker, but he left Hand Solo

I thought his acting was fine. he basically played Jack Carter again. His look however was pretty ridiculous. He is in amazing shape but the hair and wardrobe in this film was over the top. I Know he wants to show off the bod but find another way than skin tight button up shirts LOL.
Not a horrible film though. It started out great and then went downhill a little but I was not expecting much as I have not been real impressed with Walter Hill in a long time. at least he is still trying though. He really needs to get off the Buddy Buddy recipe that he has been remaking since 48 hours.

Not sure what you mean. Stallone actually can act but this was a role similar to many he has played. It is not to be taken seriously. Just some mindless fun, violence and a dash of humor. In fact he has made some really bad ones along these lines and some good ones. I liked this one.

While it's not a very good film overall, I think Stallone actually turned in a decent performance in Bullet to the Head. Even most of the critics who didn't like the film acknowledged that he was the best thing about the movie.

I don't really agree with that. Stallone has given some really good performances in his career. But yeah, many of his (or Schwarzenegger and Willis) action films do somewhat rely on cheesy one liners and a lot of violence. I bet they could still do their thing with the right script and a director that's not intimidated by their career (or possibly ego if they have that) and makes sure a paycheck isn't their only motivation.
