That is so satisfying - that the old witch ended up completely ALONE!! With only her "Indian" to console her - I wish she didn't even have her! This whole movie made me increasingly angry all the way through - just watching all the turmoil within this family - that was just a very good ending for me.<br />
I hope they all go on with their lives - even the sister and half-brother, who cares?? it's their life - and stay the he** away from that devil mother.</p>

<p dir="auto">Yes, Violet was a mean old witch. But she did have her tender moments, and she managed to raise 3 daughters. She had an awful childhood, and she raised her daughters the same way. The film shows how familial abuse passes on down the generations.</p>
