I mean I didn't like Karen at all. She said that Jean played a role in the blame when Steve touched her up which is ridiculous since Jean was only 14. Was Karen deluded or just desperate for someone to love her?? But why was Violet so harsh to her? When Karen dropped hints about wanting the cabinets Violet just ignored her. Did it have something to do with Karen being the youngest?

I kind of agree. He was definitely a predator but she was taken advantage of, not necessarily raped.

She was mean to all of them. And Jean did have some role to play too. The guy was a douche, yeah, but 14 is old enough to know better than to do what she did.

I'm pretty positive that Karen knew exactly what happened and probably had some inkling that he had cheated/flirted before. It seems to me that she had bad luck with men and just wanted an ideal, married life. So when she was saying all that stuff about blame, she was just irrationally trying to find a reason to defend his behavior.
And I think that Barb was most obviously Vi's favorite and she loved Ivy so much because she was around and the one that would stay around.
