is that magnificent, brilliant daughter of hers whom I'd love to see on a fashion cover.
In terms of the personality of Ms. Wintour, she appears to be an excellent businesswoman who has to navigate and negotiate all types of personalities while producing a product that the reader wants to see.
She has accepted this responsibility and does so in a professional manner. As such, she's an excellent role model for young people in any kind of business.

I really think that if Anne were a man, she'd be a role model. At least she doesn't seem to be two-faced, friendly but back-stabbing. She doesn't say anything until her decision has been made.
I agree this is a tough, tough industry.
I feel a clue to the influence on Anne's personality was the clip of her father. Her mother wasn't shown. Also, warmth and friendliness tend to be an American value. Even that value has changed a bit recently; until 20 years ago, Americans didn't hug and kiss each other, certainly not in business. Perhaps they did in fashion.

I agree we shouldn't use the word 'role model' lightly, but there are a lot of traits in Anna to be admired. Her dedication, perfectionism and talent have been honed over the years and her career achievement is a testament to that. She has been known to be an 'ice queen'-and yes, after viewing this documentary, I wouldn't cross her. But then again, its a highly competitive industries, and everyone around her showed signs of 'Anna Wintour-ness'. Grace, for example, may come across as lovable, maternal and earthy, but if you look closely, she's just as ruthless and not a person to cross either.
I wish I had Anna's self-confidence, dedication and talent. Maybe I'm more approachable, friendlier etc. but of course, no one has anything. But I will say this-I wish I had someone like Anna in my life to push me and make me go the extra mile now and again.

Idlewood, lets not get ahead of ourselves
she may be an impressive business woman, after all she runs the most successful fashion magazine on the worldbut role model? I don't know about that.
who she is as a person is different then who she is a business woman. Just cause she's successful in her work doesn't mean she's a a good person or has a good character. We should think a little more before starting throwing words like role models..

Ms "Nuclear" W. is about as good a role model as Lucrezia Borgia. Her professional style is like "Wilhelmina Slater" on a very bad hair day.
For a girl scout leader, I'd sooner choose "Miranda Priestly". That's all.
