None of The Tributes hid in a cave for a few days until the Game was over and everyone else was dead? I was wondering that, until the Gamemakers implied that they would interfere if they see a Tribute hiding out from other Tributes, like when Katniss was far away from the nearest Tribute. They threw fireballs at her to get her to run to the area that The Careers were in. I guess that The Gamemakers would start making the cave start collapsing on itself to get them out of there.

Yes, it is said that the morphlings won their games largely by hiding until the very end. It's a good idea in theory. The problem is that the game makers don't like it and they will interfere. That's why they starting throwing fire balls at Katniss in THG.

It wasn't in the Quarter Quell, but I believe one or both of the morphlings won by hiding until everyone else was dead. Am I right?
Haymitch won the 2nd Quarter Quell by using the force field to his advantage.
I intend to live forever.
So far, so good.

Didn't one of the competitors in the Quarter Qwell win his tournament by hiding the whole time?

I wish that Rue had the same evasive tactic that her alter ego Young Cateleya had in Colombiana when those thugs that killed her parents begun chasing her. She ran for the hills and even hid in some kind of structure and under a manhole to get away from her parents' killers! Rue could have won The Hunger Games if she acted like Young Cateleya! Amandla played both Rue in The Hunger Games and Young Cateleya in Colombiana.

I wondered that myself, but the gamemakers would flush them out. It's part of it being a television show. After a while they would have gotten Rue out of the trees.

Rue persued a strategy similar to that. observe, evade, keep herself well fed and strong, and wait it out but not engage.
