It really didn't make sense that he would tell his daughter to crash the US Marines checkpoint. He knew they would open fire on the car possibly hitting his daughter,, and the car possibly kill or injure US personnel. What did he really have to gain from doing this? He lost the tail on him at the train track. Even if there was another guy gaining on him, if he just pulled up to the checkpoint and stopped, its not like 2-3 guys with pistols were going to open fire at the car with a bunch of armed US Marines standing there.
The much more realistic scenario would be him pulling up to the checkpoint, identifying themselves as Americans, and saying 'watch my daughter, I have to rescue my wife who's been kidnapped by criminals"

That is the only thing that does not make sense to you? There are so many major plot holes in this movie that I don't even care about the detailed ones.

Bryan practically stalking the guy's house and legally his wife and child, a multi-millionaire have no security system to even warn him? Well, thats fine, I am not looking for a dramatic scene but actions, forgivable.

The set up of the movie is shown in the trailer. That kind of kill the mood. Sorry, I have to make some complaint about this, albeit the set up does not really show plot hole. It is a simple theme anyway.

Everything start to go wrong here: their kidnapping is ok, until he calls daughter. So no one will take advantage or warning that he was calling his daughter (or might be someone else, they did not know that). After that, the counting was pretty cool though.

Hiding in the closet? Come on. I doubt my ears when I hear it, I thought the closet has a special lock or something, but turn out that it is just a plain closet.

The whole daughter finding them scene. Throw grenades on the roof? It was like OMG, when I watch it. I can tell you countless soldiers in army threw the pin out rather than the grenades and blew their hand off, that is why there are practices before using the real grenades. The map navigation thing, discounting she might be panicking, that skill actually require 10 hours of training and there will be an exam for that to do it properly. I guess it is in her gene.

He was talking to a phone about 1.5 foot from him and the guard outside cannot hear itecho much in that room?

I would chain a harmless women and tied up a professional agent with plastic band and a dungeon full with edges and no tie on his feet.

Just one guard outside on his jail? Knowing he is important and extremely dangerous.

A driver without a license (or even much experience) driving like that without vitally crashing into anything.

The embassy thing you pointed out. I might add that there were no one chasing them at that point for about 1 mile.

They used the same line so much in this movie that is ridiculously inappropriate.

The scale of the first movie is better than this one is ridiculous.
The rest of the movie is just like the first one, which is actually fine. As long as I dont feel it is ridiculous, I can just enjoy the action. I may still point out a few plot hole that is ridiculous but I probably missed during my toilet break.
I actually still recommend this movie to people. The pace is still fast, the action is still decent and Liam is still cool. Just the first movie is so much better than this one.

What had me scratching my head was how someone could crash through an embassy baracade and then be out on the streets within 5 minutes. What, no interrogation, shadowing by current CIA or military personnel concerned about a loose cannon shooting up the streets of an allied country?

The embassy should have cement barricades to prevent high-speed explosive vehicles. This entire scene, and everything about it was retarded.
Still a good action flick, but just one of the bunch.

Guys, think about this. It was the heat of the moment. Neither character has their passports, identification or whatever so said proof could be used to prove their status as american citzens. Not only that, time wasn't truly in their hands due to gravity of the situation at hand. So what to do? Listen to Bryan Mills and just go dukes of hazard right through the embassy!

I haven't seen this movie yet but it sounds like bad Boys 2 where Will Smith and Martin Lawrence crash a Hummer into Guantanamo Bay and the soldiers actually are shooting at them.
And I thought Istanbul would have a consulate, not an embassy, since its not a capital city.

thought exactly the same thing, in "Taken" Bryan was calculated and methodical,he was like a terminator all his moves made sense. In this one he wasn't the same person.
He got kim to hide in his room in the closet where the villains will of course look for her, dumb.
He got kim to throw grenades 3 times, only checking for a safe place to do so the first time, dumb.
He allows Kim to run around on rooftops carrying grenades, (after telling her to blend in) while obviously going to be pursued looking for flags that are blowing a certain direction, how did he know which way the wind was blowing? Dumb.
Bryan from the original Taken would have had her get to safety at the embassy no matter what, no debate.
Also after they stopped at the embassy after being shot at why did the soldiers not descend on the car calling them to come out? Bryan has a whole conversation with kim, makes a phonecall and the next minute he's wondering around the area he was taken.
The whole film was ridiculous unlike the first where I just thought "wow"
you can pick this apart without even trying.

Plus, the US embassy is not located in Istanbul, but Ankara - hundreds of miles away. The first time he told her to go there, I thought she was going to take a bus or train. There is a consulate in Istanbul, though.

I agree.
His plan of action was to escape the enemy by going head on with a weapon that could essentially obliterate him and his daughter instead?
I think the gun was more of a problem then escaping.
I guess Liam Neeson's character was whatever the story needed him to be.

According to this movie, speed of sound is ~1125 m/s (!), not 340 m/s.
Looks like they Googled it quickly and found 1,236 KM/h, but did not notice the KM/h part.
Apparently they forgot to convert it to M/s.
and the scene where bad guys trapped his car in the street with a van and a SUV, the guy in the van opened fire on the windshield trying to kill him, but when they meet in the building after the chase, they decided to throw the guns away and fight just like in a Chuck Norris movie.
This movie is a total fail.
BTW Turkey and Albania has no borders, and if it had, I'm sure it wouldn't be just a wooden barricade with 3 guards.

They were standing there because someone shouted out that it was suicide bombers, so they were not about to walk right up to the car. The part about being able to walk out after the destruction he wreaked is spot on though.

Remember, Mills is ex-CIA with connections in France from the first movie. So when he has his friend call the Embassy to vouch for him, I'm sure the CIA personnel to the Embassy would be sympathetic to his plight and given him the different gun he had when he went back looking for his wife.
