When Mac and Jack go to the convenience store to talk to the cashier from the YouTube video, she mentions that the guy they're asking about comes in once a day to buy a Gooey Pie. (Probably the junk food version of Caf-Pow?)
So why didn't they just stake out the store and when the suspect came into the store next, they follow him home? Yeah, there's a slight chance that he's been scared off from doing that, but still.
(Yeah, I get it, the guy went on the run and didn't go back to the store, but they didn't know that at the time.)
BTW, the actress who plays the convenience store woman we went to the same college. I remember her being in all the local productions.
