<p dir="auto">There needs to be a compelling arc to any protagonist's experiences. Jimmy had no arc - it was a flat line from adolescence to the closing garden scene with his mother.  Why should anyone care about Jimmy? Because he lost his job? So that is the gist of the script? Go ahead- make a film about a clueless arrested development male. Your underwriters deserve something more.</p>
