I've turned over a new leaf and have grown as a person, guys. Part of my growth involves taking accountability for my past actions, facing my inner demons, and repairing the relationships I have destroyed during the evil trolling days of my mid-20s.
For nearly a decade, my heart has been heavy carrying the deep guilt and shame of this dark secret.
Shortly after I deleted my OG account in early 2015 due to being hit with an inhumanly long time-out threshold between posts, rendering the account basically unusable, (I think it had reached about 2 hours?) I decided to troll a board "favorite" known for creating numerous socks to hide behind but lacking the mental fortitude necessary to make even a remedial attempt at altering his posting patterns and quirks which allowed his identity to be easily determined; Shredder.
I assumed the tongue-in-cheek nature of the username would be obvious to other board members that it wasn't really him and that it was just someone trolling him for ****s and giggles, but alas, that wasn't the case. It appeared some actually thought it was really him. Pete certainly did. Another board "favorite" also thought it was him: Imcomplicatedok/strawberryshortcake/Complicatrix. She PM'd me asking, "Is it really you?" I pretended to be him and she got quite
comfortable
as we continued to message back and forth.
I seem to recall a bit of board drama back then wherein Shredder stood accused of feeding her information about other board members, and she used this information to raise hell and start **** with people on a semi-regular basis. He vehemently denied these accusations and so did she.
Ironically, my mini trolling spree revealed that they were apparently both lying. Shredder was, in fact, likely feeding her information about other board members. They had been PMing each other for a while and were quite chummy with one another based on the way she was talking to me. It was kinda weird. Wasn't she married? Anyways…
PHEW! It feels so good to get that off of my chest. I feel cleansed. I have found my peace. I have a new career and new purpose.
Life is good.
