He's good in
Deadwood
and portrayed what was essentially a more contemporary version of that character quite well in
Justified
. In both series, he was often overshadowed by superior actors, but he plays the part well enough. Strikes me as a sort of modern day John Wayne or Clint Eastwood, in that he has somewhat limited range, whilst being the ideal choice for a very particular type of role.
