Today has been a surprisingly active day on the boards. I say surprisingly because, frankly, I expected about half the posters to be dead or dying from Covid-19. Even if this is true, it has not noticeably affected levels of intelligence on the board.
Another board legend has returned to us: the legendary Spec (I use the word “legendary” so often chiefly to infuriate Gameboy, who feels we are not entitled to any legends, there being only 20 of us in our heyday; he doesn’t realize that all 20 of us were legends! legends! legends!).
Today’s activities ranged from the equable to the luridly violent. A thread on insult trolls brought, as one might have expected, many insults heaped on the head of the hapless OP, mainly from trolls who felt neglected and overlooked. Orson, who has taken to making up to 20 or 30 aggrieved posts every day about Bentley, who for his part magnificently ignores him, is clearly heading for a nervous breakdown. His own socks (Boreson, Whoreson, Lard Orson, Snoreson, Ignoreson et al) have turned against him and ridicule him. It is a spectacle that partakes in equal measure of pathos and comedy.
Bee has been overwhelmingly voted in as best TWD poster, and Rob and Twiz are prom queen and king, though Rob looks broader than we expected and Twiz has a distinctive but charming squint.
In the pics thread, Rob, ballzy, Stammerhead, Rocket, Bee, Penny, Twiz and Jacky all turned out to be drop-dead gorgeous (at any rate before they were Horatioed).
In a fittingly exciting finale to the day, Kirk was transformed into a raging, profane, many-socking beast by Putin’s rape fantasies: not so much the fantasy itself, which was typically Putinesque in its teddy-bear dismembering fashion, but the fact that the fantasy was greeted with such insouciance (how I love that word!) by its intended target, the (presumably) much molested Sophie, who took it in her ****-caked stride. Whether this will develop into something even more dramatic, stoked by the skilled ssers of the board, remains to be seen.
