he shall not define you
there are those who come
into our life's
destined to arrive
at the same stops
you do
knowing that the shoes you walk in
were theirs all along
even the songs shared seem written
for that moment
where time arranged
that ball to drop
and it's then you'll know and stop
everything
knowing he shall not define you
for no ruler king or hateful thing
shall ever stop the songs
you bring together
so lift up your voices in this
our inclement weather
and tell his royal highness
his tyranny shall now be drowned
in the songs we sing together.
