I think he’s far less sinister. I think he thinks he’s just having fun and any mind ****ery is tangential to his actual intent of being pleased with himself and his harmless shenanigans, yet he doesn’t see the need to explain of any that as it would take away the fun of it all.
Yes, I imagine him smiling a lot and thoroughly enjoying every post he makes, laughing through the pipe that’s clenched between his teeth (as professors are known to do). Occasionally falling backwards in his chair in astonishment when one of his many foes manages to piece together a coherent thought. I also think he would love for everyone to someday say, Bentley, you were thoroughly entertaining and we love you for it!
