where everyone is strenuously cheerful and positive but are secretly thinking things like:
I wonder who that dude is who greeted me so fulsomely? Could it have been the kid with goop always on his face, whom we used to call Snotrag????
God, is that Eddie? He's gotten so fcking fat! Is that his wife or his daughter with him? Oh, he just groped her, must be his wife. Or maybe not.
Damn, this guy I used to laugh at clearly earns almost twice as much as I do!
She always dressed badly but she never looked this bad! And that hair!
How come I used to find that guy's jokes funny? He's a fcking bore!
We need to be up-front about these things, people!
I'll go first and say a few things that are shocking but will turn out to be what many have often wanted to say but never dared!
VHS is not a Catholic priest!
Corwin is actually quite a nice guy, under that malevolent exterior!
Bongo is not the insolent young puppy he tries to come across as!
Klam is not really shy at all!
Bentley is an open book!
Rob does drugs!
Mange knows a few women!
Deep down, Spec doesn't like Cornell that much!
Gigi may still be on the board, heavily and impenetrably disguised as (gasp) GG!
