This looks like a tongue-in-cheek (no pun intended) cross between TREMORS and the old British semiclassic ISLAND OF TERROR. (SPOILERS AHEAD) But the main premise doesn't make any sense. The fact a person is totally soaked with booze does NOT prevent him/her from being eaten or decapitated after all it only happens that IF a grabber would suck someone's blood with a high alcoholic rate, it will dry up but ONLY if the victim is actually attacked. I thought at one point someone would sacrifice a cow or a sheep injected with alcohol or even offer a pint of alcohol-soaked blood in a jar or something to the blasted creatures.
Then again it's a lot of fun, comparable to last year's sleeper ATTACK ON THE BLOCK.

If someone is bladdered you can easily tell, because it comes through their pores. If a human with our basic sense of smell can tell if someone has been transmuting Guinness into urine then I'm sure a monster that goes around smelling and licking things would easily be able to tell also. And it does when it gives Smith a lick and then twats him halfway across the island.

I am inclined to agree about the best line. In fact I think Paddy was the best character by far and a well deserved plaudit should go to the actor Lalor Roddy for creating such a funny character (with help from the witty writing,of course)

I also thought they would use alcohol as a weapon and not to get drunk IN CASE they got eaten.
What bothers me most about this rather likable movie, is how O'Shea and Lisa are just standing there, starring at the big thing like a couple of sheep on several occasions.
Best quote of the movie: Paddy: "She's a gonner!" then turns away ha ha

My only complaint was they had the cop out ending at the end. Typical BS crap we've come to expect from horror movies. Can they never learn to leave movies as a one off and stop beep with good ideas!!!. Besides that the movie was good.

Hmm - You say that you think it might have made more sense if someone 'offer[ed] a pint of alcohol-soaked blood in a jar or something'
You just described a scene in the film! The characters do this. Did you leave for a pee at that point?
