Though I overall quite liked the film, the rather lush orchestral score just seemed completely inappropriate at times. But this movie does dare to be different.

It's there. During the scene in the beginning when he picks her from the ferry. Then again at the end of the movie.

Of course people in Ireland and UK know that very famous Christmas song.
Personally I didn't hear that song once when I originally watched the film but it's due a rewatch..

Just finished watching the movie tonight and the first thing I said when the movie started was "Is it just me or are they playing I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause"?? Thought maybe it was just because its Christmas and I was hearing things, but guess not. Wonder if they liked the tune and it wasn't something people in Ireland and the UK would know.

Yes a superb score, really added a touch of class to this excellent movie.

Never seen that film but the orchestral music was quite a surprise. It was very well done for what is considered a lowish-budget monster film. I have always felt that a strong music soundtrack can really lift a small film to a much higher level.
