Thanks to my trusty region free DVD player, I ordered a region 2 copy of Grabbers, and loved it! It was well acted, well paced and a lot of fun. It's kinda like a remake of Island Of Terror, but better paced.
The monsters are well done and executed. The giant one reminded me of the creature in an old episode of Space:1999 called Dragon's Domain.
The actors are all excellent, especially the leading lady and the female bartender. I wish we would've seen the scientist guy
somehow pop up alive and well
at the end.
Only negatives: way too short, needed more victims before they hole up in the pub, not enough tension in the last half hour (in fact it became a little too slapstick for me) and last they killed the big one way to easily.
Still, recommend it highly.
