Me, I firmly believe that this film deserves a 7 or 8.
Do the math! At 5.8, that rating pretty well reflects the overall opinion represented by people with your general type of tasteswhich, I assume, gravitates towards the 'plot-driven'and by those with my general type of tastes (which leans more towards art-house), as well as all those in between or at either extreme who found the film to be middle of the road.
But wait!
I'm willing to bet that I'm at least 5 times more educated than you, and far wiser, too.
Does that make me the winner or grant me some special adjustment privileges over ratings that supersedes yours?

And yes, there are issues with the rating method IMDB employs but yours is just a very lame justification since that "inflate" remark is sufficient proof that you have no real knowledge re data and statistics.

Thank you for the insightful post. Makes me smile that I was able to annoy you. Movies on imdb that are rated 5-6 are essentially 3-4 To me. People like to inflate their ratings for some reason but this movie is not even average, therefore, deserves less than a 5. There's evidence of this inflated rating over and over
