I agree that Rachel Weisz would have been a good choice for the Queen, if they had chosen a different actress to portray Snow White. I say this because, as it's been pointed out before, Rachel and Lily look too similar. The Queen is Snow White's stepmother, and so she shouldn't look like Snow White.

I love Rachel Weisz so I wouldn't have minded her but I don't think Julia's performance left anything to be desired. I think she was the best thing about the movie, right after costume design of course.

I agree it would have been fun seeing Rachel McAdams in this role.

That's correct. Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams are better actresses. Especially Weisz. McAdams is extremely underrated cause she likes playing a certain type of character. And they were both way better choices for such cold character. Roberts was miscast.

It's true that Lily Collins looks similar to Rachel Weisz, so considering they are meant to be step-mother/daughter, it would have been a bit of a silly casting choice. Althought Weisz would've made a great evil queen, seeing her in Oz is enough, really don't need to have her in another role like that.
And Julia Roberts was great in this, she practically made the film! Rachel McAdams is not even in the same class as Roberts or Weisz. Not yet, anyway.
