If the suit is still pending that could have something do with it.
It might just be pettiness on the part of Discovery. If they air episodes with him they would have to pay him.
It would sure would be nice to check Discovery and see something besides Gold Rush and Alaskan Bush People.

I guess they keep showing season 5 because we all already have it. That's how that sort of thing usually works out. I wonder if they won't or can't show the old episodes with Cody?

I have most of season 5 on my dvr as well.
I checked Discovery on demand and all they have are newest episodes. I have most of the back half of season 4 after Cody was fired except for the first two episodes with Matt. I wish Discovery would replay those episodes.

6 onwards? i couldnt watch it, lost interest and deleted it from the pc lol

I actually have season 5 that I saved from my DVR. Sure wish they would air the earlier seasons so I could fill in some blanks. I've been watching a couple website that carry news about renewals and cancellations. Both are still in "wait and see" mode.

Looks like Discovery is airing a mini marathon of season 5 episodes early Sunday morning along with a few episodes of Dude You're Screwed. Might want to set your dvr if you're interested.
I can't find any info regarding new episodes.

I agree. Compared to the new "loud guys," Joe doesn't seem nearly as bad. But then again, if you compare Joe to Bill he again doesn't seem as bad as I remembered him. I guess we didn't realize how good we had it. LOL

I think Cody and Matt are both better suited in straight survival shows where they can showcase their skills.
Matt is perfectly capable of self rescue even though it almost never looks like he needs it. Cody looks he would be better off waiting for rescue especially with his choice of wardrobe. I don't know why he insisted on being barefoot in areas where you needed to hike out or freezing temps could kill you and then as you said whined about being put in danger.
Even though it will probably never happen I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Joe in another show like Dual Survival. This might be due to him looking better compared to the new guys. I have been watching some old episodes with him and Matt and he doesn't seem near as bad as I remembered.

You hit the nail on the head as to when this show started its decline. But I'm not sure I'd be interested in seeing Dave and Cody together again. I think, for me anyway, the magic of that pairing was lost when Cody went a little nuts. The whole bit about him going crazy over Joe's sunglasses annoyed me. So did his claim that the show runners were putting them in dangerous situations when he was the one who chose to wear shorts and wool socks to traipse through snow banks.
I'd rather see Cody in a straight survival show where he actually demonstrate survival skills. Dave, IMO, was great in a format like Dirty Rotten Survival. It wasn't really a survival show, but I found it informative and entertaining. It suited Dave's personality.
