I'm getting upset more and more with episodes of this show, even the new ones. If during the episode they starve, and nothing happens with the food portion of the show i find it completely pointless if i'm just watching someone walk around all episode then that is not what a viewer wants (at least in my opinion). I want to see them Hunt, trap, catch, fish, i want to see them eat weird foods that they can find or hunt, and i'm tired of watching episode after episode of them just walking around TALKING about how hungry they are but never eating and they got 3 or 4 days without food and find the exit point and get out. it makes it even less real. when you realize they are not eating for that long and still kicking ass the way they do so PLEASE if discovery is reading this show more food or else your making the show completely fake (i know its mostly fake anyways) but at least eating real weird food and food in the area makes it easier to believe..

Well, it wasn't a complete loss. I did learn a valuable survival technique from Josh in last nights episode that I would have never thought of?
If you're being pursued by a savage beast, kick your partner in the nads, and run like hell in the other direction!

Josh is awesome. I like his quip about Grady shaving his chest as he goes in the water for the raft. Grady is just a slightly toned down Joe Teti.

Maybe I'm buying into this show too much, but maybe one reason this episode was so short was because the producers weren't sure if they were going to be able to use the raft, or for how long. If they would have ended up having to walk out of there, it could have gone for the usual 72 hours.
I agree with others that the format is starting to hurt the show. They don't really have to show much survival, they just have to pick a direction and keep moving.
I liked Josh, I liked his quips: "He's keen as mustard". Meanwhile, Grady is coming off more and more like Joe, crabby and humorless.

No food, or shelter. The first 12+ hours was recovering the raft, then they set to repairing it. It wasn't much of a survival scenario. Had He not gone for a swim, they wouldn't have really needed the fire.
But that being said, I like the new guy. Glad they didn't get someone who was so hippie dippy as they have in the past. I know the concept of the show is about 2 different philosophies on survival, but it doesn't have to be so extreme they have an argument every 5 minutes. Would be great if Grady would tone it down just a hair.
One thing I did find amusing was Grady complaining that Josh (who he admitted was an expert rafter) wanted to write off the raft. If the raft expert says its probably toast, then shouldn't Grady have been more accepting? It reminded me of the Cuba episode where Grady wanted to take off in an untested boat in crocodile infested waters, in the RAIN. C'mon, if you have a boat that already leaks, do you want it taking on rainwater as well?

The show has definitely shifted more and more away from survival and towards an adventure format like Man vs. Wild which was garbage.
And a dulled down adventure at that. I'm hoping we'll see some changes in future episodes.
I've noticed that about the water as well. It never shows them drinking enough, especially when they are in more extreme heat. When you're walking/working in 100+ degree heat, hydration is almost a full time job. 8 ounces a day would do virtually nothing.
but never eating and they got 3 or 4 days without food and find the exit point and get out.
They weren't even out there for 48 hours in this episode so I didn't have a problem with it.
when you realize they are not eating for that long and still kicking ass the way they do
That is more believable than when they supposedly go 48 hours or more without water and when they find water they boil around 16oz of water and suddenly they are good to go.
