Thanks, I'll check it out.
Are you planning to watch the new season of "Alone"?

These producers should take notes from "Survivorman". Even at it's worst it's still better than any of these shows and while his show used to have a general format, survive alone for 7 days, he didn't strictly adhere to it.
One thing to note about Survivorman was that he was able to take a lot of existing footage, and create several episodes that focused on single aspects of survival: shelter, fire, water, food, etc. Dual DOES occasionally focus on things like shelter and fire, its rarely what I would call instructional. They don't display it in a manner that viewers could learn to do it just by watching.
From what I have seen so far, Primal Survivor is a close second to Survivorman in actually demonstrating survival skills. In last night's episode he demonstrated fire making, construction of a fish trap, and pretty amazing snare for a hog. The hog snare could have been more detailed, but the others were well shown.

It seems that these producers all get on board at the same time with the same popular theme, and then these topics run the risk of getting all genre'd out.
As Rick pointed out the seasons for the shows are short. I do think shows like "Dual Survival", "Dude You're Screwed" and "Man Vs. Hotel" definitely get stale sticking with the self "rescue" format.
The producers of Dual Survival obviously took notice of this hence the new cast with special guest stars coming next season. These producers should take notes from "Survivorman". Even at it's worst it's still better than any of these shows and while his show used to have a general format, survive alone for 7 days, he didn't strictly adhere to it.
Oh well, I suppose that some of them appeal to the viewers in different ways, and offer a better variety to choose the one that they find the most useful to them.
For the most part I get some enjoyment out of all of them.
Hopefully the rumors about Matt Graham getting a show are true. If he gets any creative control I expect it to better than all of these other survival shows.

I'm just happy that since the Dual Survivor season ended, I've got something else to watch.
Well, I have a confession to make. In my between season desperation I've been watching Naked and Afraid
I know, there's no excuse. There is after all that thing called youtube

When my wife turned it on, I was on the computer with my back to the tv. I heard the guys voice and had to look because he even sounded a little like Matt.
Not sure I'd worry too much about ti getting genre'd out. With the short seasons this kind of show has, they don't conflict much. I'm just happy that since the Dual Survivor season ended, I've got something else to watch.

Could be interesting? Never heard of him until now, but it sounds like he's another primitive survivalist along the lines of Matt Graham.
