I noticed in a couple of the intros to the episodes that they show these lost people who just disappear and leave their belongings behind. Kind of a weird scenario.
One example had two people on a canoe that tipped over and they left all their supplies along the trail for Joe and Matt to find.
So nobody looks for their bodies? Rather morbid, LOL.

That is the point. They're supposed to mimic a camper, a bicyclist, mountain climber, hunter, etc. They are supposed to show how to survive and find help if one of these people are put in such a predicament. The supplies are supposed to be along the lines of what resources they might have.

The premise of the show is that the hosts take on that scenario and become those people. If bodies were to be found, the hosts would find their dead 'doppelgangers'. LOL
