I think all four characters are pretty flawed in their own way, that's kind of the point.

I think that was the whole point of those scenes. It was demonstrate how blind Simon is to what's right under his nose. He was so desperate to get back with what he thought was the perfect girl (though actually, she really isn't) that he makes us cringe every time he mentions her name to Lucy, thus confirming his idiocy to us once and for all.

Simon's obsession with Carli was the only down side of this film I think for me.
No one can be THAT blind, surely? It was too over the top.
It's not as if Carli was anything special.

yeah, simon and jay are both pretty annoying. jay was funny but his character gets real old real quick and simon is just really annoying.
