When I first started the movie, I wasn't sure if I liked itbut after reflecting on it, I realized why the movie was (in many ways), the PERFECT ending to the show.
Here is why:

Simon FINALLY realized how bad Carli was for him
I liked Carli at the start of the series, but even before she became a totally unlikable character in the movie, it was plain to see that she was just all wrong for Simon. I didn't mind them getting together at the end of season (series) 3, but looking back on it, it was nice for Simon to finally realize how Carli uses him and is just not right for him.

Jay accepts and becomes friends with Will
Jay is a pretty unlikable character. Yeah, he can be funny, but I often wondered why they would stay friends with him throughout the show. Especially since he single-handedly caused them to NOT get together with numerous girls throughout the show (through his antics or bad ideas). However, in the movie, when Will is laying on the ground near the ant hill, Jay is the one who gets Simon to pick him up. Jay in season (series) 1-3 would have let him sit there and get bit by the ants. In the movie, it seems like Jay FINALLY accepts Will and is actually starting to look out for him like he does with Simon/Neil.

Jay grows up because of Jane
While more time could/should have been devoted to it, it was nice to see Jay FINALLY not be so shallow. He found a nice/sweet girl and stopped caring what others would think and just let himself be happy.
Lastly: They STOPPED BEING INBETWEENERS
While The inbetweeners isn't a "deep" show, it made sense why things never really worked out for the guys on it. The whole point was that they were "in-between" social groups and "in-between" being immature and mature (although they often were just immature). It was sort of cliche to see that they ALL got the girl at the end, but it seemed like the point was that they ALL grew up. I kind of wish there was some kind of growth for Will (or even for him to get revenge on his high school bully), but other than that, I felt like it was the perfect ending to the show.
I'm hesitant to watch the second movie, mainly because after watching the trailer, it was apparent that they just undid ALL the relationships (which messes with the point of the first movie). But at some point, I'll have to swallow my pride and just watch it.
Well, I've got news for you pal, you ain't leadin' but two things: Jack and sh*t and Jack left town
