This movie is visceral, well-crafted and leaves you thinking about it long after you leave the theater. A phenomenal film.
Score: 8.5/10
-Michael Cook, KLRT-TV
Garland delivers a thrilling experience and a lot of ideas for audiences to puzzle over while offering no definitive answers. Packed with excellent sound design, cinematography, action and performances, Civil War is a must-see movie.
-Matt Hudson, Bloody Awesome Movie Podcast
Its tepid refusal to actually engage with any politics (even fictional ones) leaves it feeling toothless.
Score: 2/4
-Mattie Lucas, From the Front Row
Although the big ideas don’t always coalesce, it’s certainly audacious and provocative, with its pulse on present-day volatility to add an unsettling layer of urgenc.
-Todd Jorgenson, Cinemalogue

The so-called "civil war" was just background noise and didn't figure in prominently to the story, which was just about some reporters trying to get the big scoop. Too bad they didn't fill us in on the big scoop, but we did get to learn interesting things about what yankee hillbillies do to people who aren't American when they catch them alone in the woods, sort of before the camera pans out to the next scene, weirdly enough.

The trailer looks empty on content and just explosions and general nonsense.
Garland should probably stick to writing for Danny Boyle, though Ex Machina was ok.
Annihilation was pants and yet to see the other movie he directed, Men.
