Her big scene in this movie where she screams and yells at her superior is one of the most obnoxious, annoying and outrageously acted scenes in recent movies. This is the kind of hysterical over the top acting many people take as great or is known as the big Oscar scene. Perhaps if the movie had been directed by a man he may have been able to rein in her histrionics or at least tone down that scene.
Personally, when I saw that scene in the theater I wanted to yell back at screen to tell her to shut the *&^$ up. It also didn't help that the character is, regardless of being right or wrong, a totally unlikeable and arrogant bitch.
Also, noticed this actress has yelling scenes in other movies (Interstellar for example) Wonder if this is in her contract. Just because an actor can yell doesn't mean its good acting, if so Andy Garcia or earlier Tom Cruise would have won Oscars years ago.
