Yes, the director's fault, in a way. With gaga, I'm sure they're just settling for "eh Good enough, I guess." It's more the creators and casting directors for giving her a job she's not qualified for.

Because she's a terrible actress. Her accent doesn't make sense for any place the character has been: whether Norse, English, or American. She's laughably embarrassing. Why they would dare frame her in any shots with the remarkable Bates is confounding. It only serves to highlight how disappointing gaga is. Maybe next they can pair up Hellen Mirren with Carrot Top.

I was a little confused with that, they mentioned the druids and romans, but showed her during the conquistadors.

The orgies got repetitive but her overall goal was decent villain wise. And once the main characters got back from Dallas to interact with her, it was much better. Bill encountering her is still one of the better scenes from the show

Her backstory is on point like it was from last season, I can understand why people don't like her acting, but the Countess' backstory and this one are both so good. This season is just getting better and better.
