Didn't the real Shelby see the real butcher. Shouldn't she have recogonize that Bates is the real butcher.

It's a fluid twist and not one that just happens in only one scene. We can only speculate as to what is happening. I happen to believe that Bates is the real butcher and now she can actually return to slaughter during the blood moon.

I don't see how Bates could be the real Butcher. Like the Butcher is immortal and became an actress?
Or do you mean she's possessed her? Why would she need to become a different person?
