Not even close.
If one devalues rationality, the world tends to fall apart.

I loved their performances! Granted, I'm not a LEO myself, but they still felt like real cops. Appearently, they did ride-alongs with the LAPD for 6 months prior to filming. Also, alot of the banter between them was improvised, which gave the movie even more authentisity.

(Spoiler!)
I hear ya. The only thing I didn't like about the film was the title. I'm retired LEO, so I knew what the title meant, which kinda spoiled the end for me. Once the ambush began (as soon as the minivan rabbited), I suspected that would be the time, and the manner wasn't a surprise. What got me was in the church during the funeral, instantly, when I saw Taylor. Survivor's guilt. They were too close. I can relate. Gyllenhaal/Taylor played that part perfectly, with the few words he spoke (that was a surprise).

Marley and Me pissed me off. I am on my third golden retriever and I have loved them all to the moon and back multiple times.
Marley's problem was not Marley, it was his human 'parents'. They were pathetic, useless and a danger to their human child.
feed him if he looks hungry? HES A DOG! HE THINKS HIS JOB IS TO LOOK HUNGRY!
and then the part where the toddler goes to touch Marley's toys
'don't touch Marley's toys, you know what he's like'
erm this is your freaking child! the child outways the dog in life.
what killed me was the fact that they made money off of their idiocy.
Oh God. Fortune
vomits
on my eiderdown once more.
