Seriously, I like this show, but I was honestly upset by that. Even Jackson admitted that he wanted her re-homed when he first showed up. But of course the lady cries, and then to make good television, the producers insist that Jackson swoop in and save the day by making the Riley and Mia get along.
Yeah they were better off in terms of getting along by the end, but that is not enough to protect one from being given a deadly disease like FIV. All it would take is that one occasional moment where one is annoyed by the other, or even a time where one just playfully attacks the other, and then the virus is contracted. Anyone who has cats knows those things happen, even when your cats get along very well. There's no way in hell those two people will be able to avoid that ever happening.
The lady was just being selfish by insisting both cats have to stay. If she really loves her cats, she'd be thinking about what's best for them, and not herself. It would be like refusing to give a child of yours up for adoption when you know full well you are not in a position to give them the care they need for whatever reason. Yeah that's always going to be a hard thing to do, but you need to do what's best for the kid rather than yourself. Sure cats are not human children, but the concept is the same.
Again, I know they just wanted a good show where Jackson saves the day as always, but I seriously doubt that Jackson actually believed that was the best thing for the cats. In virtually all of his other cases an occasional scratch or bite wouldn't be the difference between life or death, but in this case it was by his own admission. In other cases a minor setback would be more than manageable, but in this case it would be playing Russian Roulette for Mia. Nothing he does is going to protect a cat from contracting a deadly virus if another cat with that virus is in the same home.
I've never posted on here or any other Cat From Hell forum, but I had to share my feelings about this. It seriously upset me. As someone who spends their life understanding cats, I can't believe that Jackson actually believed that was a good situation.
If you don't want to be spoiled, you shouldn't be here in the first place.

Mia was doing perfectly fine until the 2nd cat showed up. The owners should have known better than to adopt a second cat when their first cat has an infectious disease.
For that matter, most of the problems that occur on this show result from a new cat being taken into the home, and the older cat reacting badly. Then they talk about getting rid of the older cat.
Jackson should be encouraging people not to take on a second cat. Cats are highly territorial and do not adapt well to new cats entering their territory.

The 5-year-old boy whose parents let the cat scratch him should have been re-homed.

Not only that, but the ending wasn't nearly as successful as portrayed. If you watch carefully, you can see that they blurred out a small bowl that was in front of Riley when both cats were in the living room. It's painfully obvious when Riley is sitting there with Jimmy licking his chops and dipping his face back into the bowl.
I was really disappointed to notice such deception.
Quaggan loves yoooooo!

Cats with anything that can be passed and is deadly should be by themselves. My sister lost two cats to fiv bbc.co because her roommate's cats would cry for hers and the roommate would open the door and let them play together. Not too bright.
