People clapped snd cheered when Erivo and Grande introduced the film. It got a protracted applause when it ended. People cried, a lot of people. I sat near a black couple when I saw it a second time "tonight" and the husband was the one audibly crying towards the end. A tough looking guy with dreads.
When I saw it with Rachel and her lil friends I was like biting the inside of my mouth hard so I wouldnt cry.
Grande gave an Oscar worthy performance.
Really a cultural phenomenon, these films.
