Because "The Batman" was a dragging bore, with far too much running time allocated to pseudo-drama verging on the level of soap opera which no one with an IQ cares about, badly fleshed out characters and motifs, mostly LOUSY ACTING, and on top of it - weak as an action movie compared to pretty much every other Batman movie!
Not even Batman's gizmos, another strength of the source material, allowed "The Batman" to elevate itself above mediocrity, with a boring, nondescript (might as well say "non-existent") batmobile, good old smelly grappling hook used exactly the same as ever before, and, hmm, NOTHING ELSE (is some flash drive de-encrypting gadget supposed to even count ?!).
Other than that, hmm, Pattinson… yeah. Such a bad-ass, well-muscled, menacing presence. I'd definitely piss my pants if I had to fight such a Hercules. Yup, this "batman" definitely spent too little time building his physique to peak condition as the source material is supposed to be, and far too much time hanging out with Goths and eating Veggie salads instead.
SO! Will Part 2, bringing back its human titan main actor and the same director who already proved what he can do with the first movie, somehow miraculously turn the tables around and become a genuinely entertaining and worthy Batman movie ? Hmm… no.
Sorry folks, that's all there is to it, nothing to see here, move along, move along - tell you what, if you like Batman, READ THE COMICS INSTEAD!
P. S. - Please jump off a tall building and die. Thank you.

It was better than the god awful Dark Knight trilogy, that’s for sure.

The Penguin is an improvement over the dud of the Riddler so it should be better, even if Pattinson is a lousy Batman. They should focus on the Penguin tv series and make Batman a supporting character in that.
