Who's the old lady ? she's the most believable out of the whole cast .Did the director pick some random old person from off the street? i never felt so moved in my life. She made everyone else look overly pretentious and just bad .
If jane was a porn star why even keep the money? why not just give it back? It was obvious from the sex scene that, that wasn't her first rodeo.
What is the need to show explicit sex scenes? does the director think we the audience don't know or haven't seen porn before ?
I seen a interview with sasha grey where she talks about how when she does legit films. The most they will let her do is get nude no sex scenes for her because of her history. Why did they have this other porn star dree doing full on work ?
Where was the ax murder to take out that no talent having parasite roommates of hers?
What was the point of dragging a story that could of been resolved in a new york minute ?
What was the point and motivation of jane to enter into saddie's life when you obviously had no intention of returning the money ? Why not just either keep it or if she felt so guilty return it?
"What's real? What's not? That's what I do in my act, test how other people deal with reality"

Besedka Johnson was discovered by this movie's costume designer, while they were both at the YMCA exercising. They struck up a conversation and the costume designer was charmed by her and thought her right for the part.
By the beginning of the film, Jane was not a "porn star," she was awhat's the movie title?oh, yeah, starlet. A rising star. You saw the nondescript apartment where she lived at the beginning. Clearly she wasn't rolling in it at that point. Later in the film, we learn of her rising success, and she gets to move out to a "better" (though still creepy) place, etc.
The sex scene was to establish once and for all, after a series of escalating clues, Jane's profession. The scene was deliberately quick, mechanical and deconstructed, meant to be technical and behind-the-scenes rather than sexy.
They had the porn star as a fill-in for Dree Hemingway becausethat's the porn star's job is to be a porn star.
There is no such phrase as "could of," you mean "could've," which is short for "could have." It was a movie of pretty reasonable length. I thought it took no longer than necessary to tell it; it gave us just enough.
Her name was Sadie, not "Saddie." You silly thing, you! She did "return" the money in a way. Sadie wouldn't let her give it back, since she wasn't aware it existed. Every time Jane tried to bring it up, Sadie would brush her off. Clearly Jane could have been more straightforward about what she had found, but there was a lot of subtext at the end. Sadie had been informed of how Jane was in possession of some of her money, but still chose to go to Parisbecause she knew that it couldn't have just been about the moneytheir connection and friendship was too real and deep for that to be the case. She was giving the money back to her by doing something with it she never would have chosen to dogo out and do something new and interesting that she never would have had the guts to do on her own. After all the trouble Jane went to rope Sadie into coming with, she knew that Jane really valued her friendship.
As for Jane's motivation, I think she was just looking for a parent/grandparent figure. During that call at the beginning, it sounded like her mother wasn't very interested in visiting or talking to her. Sadie was someone who was clearly lonely and alienated, which Jane probably related to at some level. Although she was popular, pretty, blonde, etc., her "friends" were really just hangers-on and junkies, and she had no genuine connections in her life. So when she saw someone who needed a friend, she wanted to become that friend.
The sky is

I have seen this movie in Istabul Film Festival and casting director Julia Kim was there to answer the questions after the premier. I wrote the story of old lady in trivias.
Jane is a porn actress but not a star like Cytherea. Infact, the movie is about how the life is normal and hard for regular actresses in this industry just like other occupations. They have rent, payments, problems with the agency, etc
In my opinion, the short and explict plans from the porn movie shooting scene were because of that. As Julia Kim explained, also the friends of Sean Baker were reluctant about the scenes and adviced him to remove them. But then he answered that "No, it is the real life of a porn actress and this is a part of her job.". I think it was a right attitude. They should not be consdered like porn scenes but must be perceived as how some girls are winning their bread. I couldn't watch porn for 2 days after seeing this movie because I was always thinking that the girl is may be a good friend with the actor at the outside but in the movie, they are showing explict scenes like that. It is dramatic for me and those scenes were increasing the intense effect.
For example in the theatre, a woman asked to Julia Kim why the girls' legs and other physical appearances were shown so much in the movie. I thought the same thing again Because this is the way how such kinda girl hangs at home in her panties or wearing low cut at the outside.
I couldn't understand two of your questions because of my bad English.
Again in my opinion, it was not in a NY minute. It was well spreaded through the story that how close friends can turn into a bad trouble, how the old lady started to see Jane like her dead daugther and the tiding psychologies. I think there were enough duration to tell all of these. The most inspring thing for me was the script, espacially, about the film. It was like a perfect chemical formula.
I really did enjoy the movie so much. Not a best one but a masterpiece in terms of right usage of cinematic techniques. I hope my ideas helped a bit.
