I agree, it was a great show. They had to end the show since it was cancelled so the ending was a bit open. I heard they had plans for more seasons but alas…..

I loved Salem. I thought that was really enjoyable. I liked the story, the characters, the plot, the cast. It was great.

I started watching the one you posted and my subscription ended. I wait until there are a few things more I want to see before I renew. It’s a different story as well. I remember it being decent from what I saw.

Haha, I couldn’t get into the books either but forced myself to read The Mummy. The other books I donated. If I had to say anything about A Discovery of Witches is the cast is my favorite part and it’s a romance but also the search for the origin of the species. It is a grown up story.

I never read the Mummy. I haven't read most of Anne Rice's books. I never cared much for her writing. I just couldn't get into it. I've got the entire Sleeping Beauty series, however, and that's very good.
I'll have to check out Discovery of Witches since Mayfair was so bad. Just like you, it only took about 2 episodes for me to feel like it was a mess, but I just kept trying. I wanted to really give it such a fair chance. All the way through to the end, and I want my time back.

I read the mummy. It was decent. I haven’t read any others. I wasn’t impressed with the vampire series either. I watched three episodes and quit. I did watch all The Mayfair Witches but nothing interesting really ever happened. Two episodes in I realized that was a bomb as well.
A Discovery of Witches has romance, mystery, intrigue as well as witches, vampires and daemons. It’s not some silly drama but it’s not scary. It’s a legit story of humans and supernaturals. I watched it three times.

I never read the books. I'm not really a fan of Anne Rice's novels but I've enjoyed the movie adaptations of her books that I've seen, (except for the latest Vampire series which ignores the source material and has a definitive agenda going on). Viewing it just as its own thing w/o any expectations was sufficient for me to recognize it was a bomb.
