If you're going to make a character-driven movie, you need interesting characters. These are not. They're not likable either.
If you want to make an interesting drama, you need a gripping, dramatic plot. Strangerland has the opposite.
This film sucks because it has an incoherent plot, with unlikable characters doing extremely unrealistic, incomprehensible things. All of this so we can witness a painfully boring story fizzle out without any conclusion.
