It's Going To Be A Bumpy Night!

Found this film to be quite creepy and unsettling. I loved how it went super dark and hard towards the end. Plus Nic Cage made for a great creepy freak of an evil psycho. 8 out of 10 from me.

I didn't really know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. It started out kind of Silence of the Lambs but ended up something very different.

I saw this today. I liked Nicolas Cage's performance here, but felt he was underused. I wanted more Cage! Maika Monroe felt a little too reserved and almost wooden at times, but I think that was intentional for the character. I didn't find it scary, but it is creepy and atmospheric and I was engaged to see where they were going with it. The story didn't completely work for me, as there are things that were not explained and didn't really make sense. The actions of various characters stretched believability in some instances. There are some entertaining elements to the film, but for me it doesn't make my list of the best films of the year. 7/10
