The bar has been set so low that "diet" sci-fi movies like this are being lauded as masterpieces. To top it off, this director is now directeing a sequel for a movie which doesn't need a sequel i.e. Bladerunner. That is a complete movie and I don't need Dennis Villeneuve's take on that movie. Talk about integrity.

I agree. I don't get it either. It was okay, a bit interesting. I gave it a 6. What was so phenomenal about it?
She communicates with aliens.
This could have been an original Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode. It was done well and everything but yeah…what's the big deal? If I missed out on something, let me know.

The word 'hate' is not strong enough to describe how I feel about Arrival. I detest it in every way.
Villeneuve is a terrible director, too. Big budget and lots of effects. But little else.

Nah, this movie was phenomenal. The sound design is riveting. I loved it and loved Bladerunner 2049 as well.
Talk about integrity.
