Depressed from memories of something that hasn't even occurred and when she meets Ian for the first time wouldn't she recognize him from her memories as her husband??, don't mind a good thought provoking film, but the hype for this movie and how great it is is leaving me confused, this is a mediocre film that deserves a 7/10 at most

IMO, I think this movie should have been called the story of my life, and the aliens should have left at the end of the second act, The last act should have been about how the gift effects her life and the complex decisions she would have had to make.
Dont become a script writer man, nobody would want to watch a boring ass drama after the bit with aliens.
Come on.

I also would have aliens just give her the gift, not how they did it in this movie, I found that silly.

If you can't buy that she was having fragmented cloudy dreams and images as she started to learn the language, instead of full-length perfectly clear dreams that revealed her entire life and her future husband then it's not the movie for you.

That ignores the fact that the movie starts that way, and at best it was a convenient coincidence that she never saw Ian. Odds are Ian left them because the writer wanted an excuse for him not being around.

Louise didn't start having "memories" of the future until she learned the heptapod language.
And most of her "memories" are actually happy.
"I'm not arguing that with you. I know he can get the job, but can he do the job?"

Okay? I don't know who you're trying to convince, it's still just your opinion bruh. Congrats on having one of those, I guess.
