Good story in general, a few dumb plot points lessened the impact (super advanced spaceships destroyed by tanks and planes? yeah right, right wing talk show bends ear of soldier so he tried to blow them up, doh!). Everything seemed to go south after the bomb, rather than ramping up tension, it just let all the air out of the film.
The milk drinking guy from boardwalk empire and forest whittaker were cardboard cutouts that didn't add anything to the plot other than irritation.
i also have to ask, did AA have any choice in having the kid, seemed a little selfish knowing she's going to die a teenager, but maybe she couldn't change the future. Just felt a little odd.
it seems like it was trying to be as existential as Interstellar, but didn't even come close.
I thought it was a great premise that got turned into only a good movie.

But this is really bad movie, we can agree on that
And I think lot of people are payed buy movie companies to give lot of 10's.
This is not 8.3 movie, no way
It is between 5-6 maybe, but maybe
I gave it 1,I never been so bored in my entire life.This is drama about woman and her kid, aliens are just extra and they are just framework for the story about woman and her future sick kid.It is really bad movie. Critics really tricked us all, and they butchered movie like Passengers , who at least have some story and it is not boring ( I am not saying it is good movie, but for movie it is far better then this crap of beep

I don't think this movie is as great as it is hyped to be, but having said that it's not bad. I don't think giving it a rating of 1 is fair on this movie, since it's not deserved of a 1. Out of my 1200+ ratings I've only given 2 movies that, purely since I believe it's torture porn and a poor excuse to be called a movie.
Having said all this, the ratings on imdb are skewed anyway, so perhaps will not matter eitherway. Good example is all these Nolan fans who give 10s for all of his movie, even though a few I acknowledge are excellent e.g. TDK, The Prestige.

Based on the reviews? That's your problem right there. If you think you'll like a movie based on the trailer, or the cast/director/writers involved, that is one thing. If you expect to have your mind blown because you read it in some review online, that's kinda your fault. Film quality is fairly subjective. Sorry.
