I can't place this Eli fella's accent. Is he supposed to be from the north or the south of Ireland? It's like a mixture of the two and not in a Fermanagh sort of way.
Was he Irish in the book?
They should just cast Irish actors for Irish roles. Others just can't do the accent.

I thought the Irishy accent showed up on the scene late in the game, and most briefly. My husband & I turned to one another shocked, debated it, and then laughed!

Irish-American, he got his accent from listening to his Ireland born Grandparents and his Parents Irish-American friends, who having come from all over the Green Isle of course made for quite the mix of accents in the Young Ones.
