Ok so we all know the movie under-performed at the box office, but what about its home video sales? The DVDs and blu-rays were released back in November but I've only managed to find older articles about the movie's home video sales for the first few weeks or so.
Here's some articles:
http://www.homemediamagazine.com/research/star-trek-beyond-warps-top-home-video-charts-39115
http://variety.com/2016/digital/news/sonys-sausage-party-snags-top-spot-on-dvd-blu-ray-disc-sales-charts-1201919999/
http://www.homemediamagazine.com/research/finding-dory-floats-above-black-friday-sales-frenzy-39219
As expected, Beyond debuted at #1 in home video sales and rentals, then dropped to #2 on its second weekend, and then to #3 overall for week 3 & 4 consecutively, but then nothing after that. Seemingly I'm guessing that means it probably dropped out of the top 5 by week 5.
Apparently the sales were so good in its first week that Paramount released a special reboot trilogy collection on blu-ray. Beyond's second week sales were apparently still very good too as it remained as the highest-selling "old" release in its second week at #2, only the new release 'Sausage Party' beat it in week 2. Beyond also remained as the highest-selling "old" release in week 3 at #3 and pushing Sausage Party down to #4, and Beyond remained at #3 in week 4 during the Black Friday sales.
Considering the lack of more recent reports about Beyond's home video sales performances, I'm guessing Beyond dropped out of the top 5 by week 5 due to all the newer releases in the following weeks such as 'Jason Bourne', 'Secret Life of Pets', 'Suicide Squad' etc, those were some very tough competition for Beyond at the box office also. Therefore it's understandable if Beyond was pushed out of the top 5 following the releases of these strong competitors. But I think for Beyond to stay in the top 5 consecutively for 4 weeks straight was a very good performance for the movie in terms of its home video sales
I think it might just make some good profit from its home video sales. Furthermore, Beyond's DVDs and Blu-ray releases are also receiving many positive and rave reviews on numerous major online shopping sites like Amazon.
However, apparently Homemediamagazine.com would usually only report about the top 5 home video sales results for each week, so I can't find any news on that website about Beyond's subsequent sales from week 5 onwards.
The Numbers.com have a weekly top 30 list for DVDs and blu-ray sales, but they have not updated those charts since October last year, so they don't have the latest sales results yet for the past 2 months.
I wish there is another source or media outlet that frequently reports and updates the weekly top 20 or top 30 results so that we would know which movies were in the other positions each week.
I suppose we would have to wait until the end of 2017 to find out just how much additional money Beyond would actually make in overall home video sales.
Please take note I think these results are solely based on sales in the US alone, I think overseas sales are excluded.

So TheNumbers.com has finally updated their weekly blu-ray and DVD sales charts, and like I have reported previously, Beyond debuted at #1 on both the blu-ray and DVD charts:
http://www.the-numbers.com/weekly-dvd-sales-chart
http://www.the-numbers.com/home-market/bluray-sales-chart/2016/11/06
but the most recent sales numbers on Thenumbers.com were from way back in November last year, so they still have a lot of catching up to do.

That's good to know, the box office performance was not very good, so hopefully the movie would make more profit from its home video sales and inflation.

I'm on Amazon a lot, and for the entire month of November it was #1 in science fiction bluray sales.
