It's a peaceful watch, humorous, has pretty great casting plus world building and it feels much more inline with the epic first four seasons than the predominantly mindless drivel served up thereafter.
You can tell much like HOTD they are stretching the sparse source material thin, but it still works.
Charlie Stubbs from Corrie is also perfectly cast to play a small role as a cheeky chappie rags to riches member of the kingsguard:
Daniel Ings (Freddy from the gentlemen) is also great as the wild, drunken Lyonel Baratheon.
Bertie Carvel as Prince Baelor steals the show with his cool, calculated smartest guy in the room routine. He's like Roose Bolton except he's not a massive bellend.
And the 2 leads are eminently endearing.
It's the best show I have seen in a long time.

They don't stray much from the books at all actually. Some scenes had to be added because the story in the book is only told from Dunk's perspective.
