Without Gyllenhaal and his outstanding performance this would have been a mediocre movie. But Jake elevates it quite nicely.

I went in with low expectations, which may have helped. But I enjoyed it.
I also found it very unique. What movies have you seen that were like it? I can't think of one.
Beyond everything else, I've never seem a movie about television video stringers. But the combination of a gritty success story combined with a psychotic protaganist, I felt, was very unusual.
I also found it highly realistic in its depiction of L.A. and modern life.
