my god imdb and RT must be going to beep
one of the most OVERRATED flicks I've seen in a while. not only does it not have anything creative or original, it's doesn't even have anything outside the mundane!

Without the finale, the film is a bit repetitive.

The film having received an Oscar nomination for best original script was a mistake then?
i don't think so
very underrated movie, one of the best(if not the best) of 2014

Without Gyllenhaal and his outstanding performance this would have been a mediocre movie. But Jake elevates it quite nicely.

I went in with low expectations, which may have helped. But I enjoyed it.
I also found it very unique. What movies have you seen that were like it? I can't think of one.
Beyond everything else, I've never seem a movie about television video stringers. But the combination of a gritty success story combined with a psychotic protaganist, I felt, was very unusual.
I also found it highly realistic in its depiction of L.A. and modern life.
