I think you have to prepare for the possibility that he won't even be in the standalone<br />
This is not as much of a surprise as it should have been. First he's out as director, then they tear up his script. That's probably not an easy thing to take, for a guy who wants to be a serious writer-director.<br />

During the latest episode of Collider Movie Talk, host John Campea explained that he has talked to three separate sources connected to this situation at Warner Bros., who all state that Ben Affleck is trying to get out of playing Batman altogether.<br />
I do hope this is not true it would lead to so much more embarrassment for the DCEU Zealots especially as they have to then try and spin it to being a good thing like they did when Affleck left the role of director despite them all telling us up to that point how great it was to have Affleck going to direct The Batman.<br />
