Well.Iron Man 2 was an interesting idea that was derailed by stunt casting and shoehorning in Avengers build up.
Iron Man 3 kind of seemed like "well, we're not sure if RDJ will re-sign so we'd better write a coda just in case".
Age of Ultron was.uneven.
And the Thor movies? Aside from the character not really being accessible, they also had to deal with the incredible suckage that is the appearance of Natalie Portman in a franchise film.
