You should watch the Ultimate Cut. It puts back in an extra 30 minutes which are pretty well spread throughout the entire movie.

Your problem was thinking it had flaws. Even if you like the movie overall, if you have any problems with it, no matter how tiny, the apologists will attack you. It's ridiculous.

It adds alot of sub textual context and reasoning behind a lot of character motivations. but the characterizations and story is still the same one.
