"Spider-Man" character in your opinion? And do you think that films like Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 1 & 2, and cartoons like The Spectacular Spider-Man: Animated Series, are good adaptations of the Spider-Man character in general? And if you don't know what The Spectacular Spider-Man Series is, you should because it's been available in a complete series set on Blu-ray for a little over two years now, and about a couple of months ago the complete series set became available on DVD, as well.

In general no. Spider-man and his relationships are very significant to his mythos and Gwen Stacy was murdered.
No way is that being shown on a kids cartoon.
What's great about Spider-man is you can tell his story without being to canon to the books.
To me The Amazing Spider-man was closer to the source than Rami's version but Toby was just much better in terms of casting.
In all fairness, most adaptations get the character right. And that's what is important.

I like all adaptations of Spider-Man except the Andrew Garfield version and the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. It's too soon to form a solid opinion of Tom Holland's Spider-Man until his solo film comes.

I tried watching Spectacular. Just wasn't the same to me. I don't like the look of the animation or the voice acting. It had too much of that "post 90s tv animation" vibe to me. But thanks for the recommendation anyway.
Well, you obviously prefer the 1994 Spider-Man Animated Series, over Batman: The Animated Series because people have said that The Spectacular Spider-Man is the closest thing Marvel Animation has to a Batman: The Animated Series
equivalent.

Ramboman24, if you haven't heard of The Spectacular Spider-Man: Animated Series, you really should give it a chance and watch it. The whole thing. Because everybody who's seen it has called it, Marvel's own version of Batman: The Animated Series but with fewer episodes, obviously. And you have a choice. You can either get a complete series pack of Spectacular Spider-Man on DVD or on Blu-ray Disc.

The only Spider-man I've ever enjoyed significantly was the 90's animated series Spider-man. If they could somehow translate that Spider-man's charisma and attitude to the big screen I'd probably enjoy it.
Every Spider-man in the films haven't seemed like a super "man" to me. They all seem like whiny, scrawny, emo teens and I just don't like that in a superhero
Tom Holland doesn't resemble the Spider-man from the 90s cartoon in the least. He honestly makes Spider-man look like more of a kid/teen than previous live action Spideys.
I didn't even enjoy his sense of humor in Civil War.
I assume he's somewhat close to what Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's original vision of Spider-man was in the comics and if that's the case, then I guess the "true" original Spider-man character just doesn't appeal to me.
That's the problem that comes with growing up with different adaptations. We always get stuck with these ideas of what seems like Spider-man based on the adaptations we grow up with. I just happened to be a kid while there were those great animated superhero cartoons.
It's like my Dad says, if Batman doesn't look exactly like this:
http://cdn2us.denofgeek.com/sites/denofgeekus/files/styles/article_width/public/new-look-batman.jpg?itok=7nTL02EH
then it's not Batman to him. He didn't like Burton's Batman movie back in the day. I don't think he's seen any since.
